Tasty Tuesday: Having His Cake and Eating It, Too!

As reported in yesterday's post, Jimmy and I attended our first agility trial since earning our MACH. As I mentioned once before, it is tradition to bring a celebratory cake to your next trial. While it almost seems like ancient history from all the way back in April, this was my first opportunity to bring the cake, so I did!

Of course, there would be no cake without Jimmy's help, so he had to pose with it...

It would have been prettier if I had removed it from the box, but I erred on the side of caution. 1) to save it from becoming covered in dog hair and 2) to act as somewhat of a barrier from Jimmy's drooling tongue!

Of course I couldn't put it out for people to eat with a dog-bite sized chunk missing, so before it was all gone, I saved a slice to bring home.

So here it is!
Proof that you can indeed have your cake and eat it, too!

This isn't the photograph I had in my mind's eye, but I made three or four tries and each time the bite disappeared so quickly, I could barely snap a picture. I couldn't keep feeding him more and more sugar, so I cut my losses and this was the best of the lot!

Oh, and in case you are wondering, that dark blue icing, once digested, turns a dog's poop bright kelly green! I should have taken a picture of that, too! LOL! Well....maybe not.

Jimmy's breeder, Anne, and her husband drove over three hours (one way!) just to join in the celebration. Look at the lovely flowers they brought me.....

Anne also hand-made me an adorable garden flag featuring Jimmy taking a jump. I put it out as soon as I got home and don't have a picture yet. Thanks, Anne, I love it!

Tidbits on Tuesday

I saved a couple of photos from the weekend for another post. I must ration my blog fodder, don't you know!

First, Jimmy with his Triple-Q ribbons. Q'ing in all three runs is a rare event, at least for Jimmy and me, so it is definitely photo-worthy!

Jimmy also earned a 4th place ribbon in Standard!

Next up.....Unless you actually do agility, you probably won't know this. When someone achieves their MACH title (Master Agility Champion), it is tradition to bring a "MACH cake" to your next trial. Most people bring a sheet cake large enough to serve a lot of people and it usually has one of those "photo icings" with the dog jumping an obstacle or posing with the big MACH ribbon. However, someone at this past weekend's trial took it to a whole new level! Check it out.....

This really "sets the bar" a whole lot higher for the rest of us!
Pun definitely intended!
