I chose yet another food puzzle. There's nothing like the dog days of summer to make playing with your food a good past time. It's too hot to spend time outdoors and being indoors is just so boring! Break out the food puzzle, and at least for a short time, there is joyful entertainment!
Outward Hound seems to have the corner on the market of dog food puzzles! This time we tried a ball style puzzle called the Treat Chaser. The ball is weighted in such a way that the holes always return to the sides of the ball and stop spilling the treats. When your dog noses it around, it wobbles and wiggles and the treats fall out. I do think it was a bit too easy. It dumped out lots of kibble at one time so it didn't take long to empty. Maybe a different shaped treat that was a bit larger would do the trick and make the game last longer. That being said, this is still a great toy to slow down your too-speedy eater. It will take a bit of effort to get it all, much more so than hoovering up the dinner bowl!
