This is a freeze-dried raw product. As such, it needs to be re-hydrated prior to feeding by adding some water and letting it sit. And sit some more! I knew I it would take a bit of time, but even at the 20 minute mark, it was still fairly dry. My dogs are noisy when waiting for their dinner, so it felt like a very long time indeed! Next time, I will be a bit more stealthy, and not let them know what I am doing until it is finished soaking. It is a good idea to plan ahead with freeze-dried food. Of course you could sprinkle a bit of this over their regular kibble (without soaking it first) as a nutrition boost. Both boys were happy to eat dry pieces I offered them.
Now, that being said, my guys both tucked into this food like it was the tastiest thing they had had in a long time!
Please, Sir, I want some more. |
My dogs definitely enjoyed this food. It's a bit pricey for regular use, but as a back up food, it got all 8 paws up from my corgis! Thank you Chewy.com for letting me try another great product!

Good job getting it out on time!! My review will be up over the weekend, I hope!
ReplyDeleteI've seen those in the store, but I was always unsure if they were dehydrated or not. I'll have to keep those in mind, for traveling or whatever. :-) When I forget to defrost, I put the food on a teflon pan, for some reason it really speeds the process us.
ReplyDeleteMy granite counters really help if I put the food directly on it. They also make our dinner cold in minutes if there isn't a thick place mat!
DeleteNola really likes this food! It's a great training treat for her. It does take forever to rehydrated, much more so than other freeze dried brands I've used.
ReplyDeleteSomebody likes that kinda foods. Yummy

My crew can't wait to try this out!
ReplyDeleteLooks like it was a big hit!
ReplyDeleteWe are trying freeze dried raw food that needs to be hydrated. Mom has a problem because we keep eating the dry stuff and don't want to wait. It is seriously good.
