This was very likely the skin of a harmless Black Rat snake. They are good as rodent control and helpful to have around. When I see them in my yard, I usually just relocate them to the woods further from my house.

What fun...but hey, I bet there's a lot of protein in that snake skin, mom should have let you eat it for sure. Although it is kind of gross...

ReplyDeleteOof. That reminds me of the garter snake that took up residence over the side door to the garage. About 3 weeks ago I went in that door and much to my, and the snakes surprise, he fell onto my head. Have not been really excited about going into the garage since then!

ReplyDeleteSnakes are so yucky ... not a big fan of them. Too bad your Mom took it away and ruined your fun but that's what Moms do ... keep ya safe and healthy!
ReplyDeleteWhat a FIND! We've never found a snakeskin...and SHE's very happy. As we've said before, a snake found here is 99.9% poisonous. Looks like it would be fun to play with and ROLL on, though.

Eck! I can't do snakes at all! We had one in the front yard this weekend and it scared the crap out of me! I'm avoiding that area for the rest of the summer.
ReplyDeleteOoooh, Baby Fable and Storybook are totally envious! All they have had lately is box turtle, which the human female screamed and screamed when we brought it in the house and put it on the couch!
