That being said, in a fit of boredom the other day, Jimmy grabbed the long ignored toy out of the toy bin.
Here's his "come hither" look.......

My... that's a big... toy. Actually, my first thought (upon seeing the pics and before reading about the "dubious" comments) was that it looks like you could brain someone with it. Is it ... oh, I hesitate to ask this in light of the "dubious" comments... but, um, hard?
ReplyDelete***steps aside for giggling fit***
The pics are really damn cute. The color of the toy - um, it's SO red! - looks great w/ Jimmy's black coat.
I was in an Eddie Bauer store one time looking at jackets, and just happened to see some dog toys that I thought my dogs would like. They were made of a very durable rubber, had nubby things on them, and their shapes were uh... suggestive. If you want a visual aid, Google "Roughwear gourdo". When I went to pay for them, I could tell the saleswoman was suspicious of what I was going to use them for. She kept asking me question after question about the dogs - how old were they? where did I get them from? what were their names? what color were they? how much did they weigh? I could tell by the smirky look on her face she thought she was going to trip me up in a lie.
ReplyDeleteThose toys did turn out to be some of the best toys the dogs ever had. The were super durable, and the dogs were crazy about them...even though they were embarrassing for me.
We have a Kong toy like that in green. My mom gave it to me because her dogs didn't like it. I am not brave enough to take photos of the dogs with it... if fact, I have some really cute photos of them playing in the yard and THAT toy is on the ground and, er, it looks, well... Jackie is right about the toys brute power; Huxley has taken me out at the knees when running around the yard with it in his mouth!! Why keep such a toy? They love it and have some epic tugs. I swear that's the only reason.
ReplyDeleteIs it...ehm, a soft and bendy toy...or is it more...hard and rigid? :p I think having a Dachshund (you know, a "wiener") and one of these toys would be too priceless.
ReplyDeleteNola's Mom
Jimmy mate, you can play with whatever toy you want. We'd love to play tug-o-war with ya. Mum did have a chuckle though. She is pretty coo coo in the head though.
ReplyDeleteNo worries, and love, Stella and Rory
Dubious indeed! Hahaha. Didn't occur to me until you mentioned it!
ReplyDeleteI have seen this toy "artistically" arranged with other toys at the store. Not going to lie, I laughed out loud.
ReplyDeleteBOL! I gets that look in my eye too Jimmy! Hey, you got to mix it up, right?!
ReplyDeleteKisses,
Ruby ♥
That's hilarious. I never would have thought it was anything other than a dog toy. Now that the comparison is made, though... let's just go with the regular Kong.
ReplyDeletelol, I seen them at dog shows and hear the dogs love them but yes look very...... Great photos.
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAHA! That's the best looking dog toy I've ever seen in a while. I can only imagine the awkward exchanges you got when buying it.
ReplyDeleteWe have exactly that same toy in exactly the same color. It took my closest friend saying "What kind of shop did you buy that in?" for me to realize what others might think it is. I now hide it when people who I don't know well are coming to the house. But, our dogs love it. Just tonight, Shyla looked just like Jimmy, trying to entice R out of his enforced rest to play with her, by sashaying past him with that fake stick in her jaws. He fell for it, and we had to separate them!
ReplyDeleteLMBO!!!!!! This was hilarious and just about made me spit my drink out ... LOL!! Looks like a fun toy to play with though.
ReplyDeleteLOL...I can see the dilemma there. But, I bet Torrey would love to play tug with a toy like that.
