This time of year, while there's still plenty of rain, the local lake is great for swimming. The water is nice and clear, and the algae hasn't begun to take over. It's very hard to keep the boys out if they are running free. I am pretty sure swimming is their all time favorite exercise. They can go as crazy as they want playing fetch, but they don't overheat. Of course it does end in a bath at the end of the weekend, but living in the moment as they do, that never occurs to them until they see me coming with the hose!
For today, we have Jimmy. He has very expressive eyes when he's at this level of excitement. Either that, or the water was really, really cold!
If you've ever done any boating, you know that you must turn on your running lights at dusk. Jimmy's white tail tip reminds me of the stern light on the back of a boat.
Mid-shake...this doesn't even look like Jimmy! |
That first pix is just so perfect! Love them all but that one in particular is great!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun. You are lucky your weather is good enough for a swim ours is horrid with grey skies and rain. Have a terrific Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
His facial expressions are killing me! I hope Stout can find the fun in swimming this summer - he was just getting into it last year.
ReplyDeleteI just love your reflection photographs. And the ear up/ear down is a terrific shot!
ReplyDeleteAre you sure he likes to swim...his eyes look like they are saying "get me outta here"! BOL
ReplyDelete*SQUEEEE* They're so CUTE!!!
ReplyDeleteJimmy's face is hilarious in all those photos. He looks either too freaking happy to function, or terrified. I'm going to go with the former :)
ReplyDeleteOh my dog! Those pics are TOO adorable. The look in his eyes. Don't believe him if he says, "Come on in; the water's fine!"
ReplyDeleteHe's having so much fun! What great photos! It's interesting that he holds his tail erect when he's swimming. I think all the other dogs I've seen in the water let their tails trail behind them on the surface.
