It's Been A Decade!

What do I say about my dog that turned 10 today? It's an age that's just starting to sound old. It's an age where he has developed bushy gray  "old man" eyebrows . It's an age that makes me emotional.  On the one hand, it makes me sad...being human I know what the future brings. On the other hand I rejoice at the fact he's made it to 10 in relatively good shape! Wilson has had no evidence of IVDD yet (Thank doG!), the Big C has ignored us so far, and he seems generally quite healthy with just a bit of arthritis. These ten years have flown by and I imagine the next few will as well. I hope Wilson will be blessed with the longevity of my first Cardigan, Dylan, who missed 17 by just two weeks! I know Wilson's sire, BIS CH Sisterwood's Winsome Will,  only recently crossed the bridge at age 16 so the genes and the odds are in Wilson's favor!

Today, of course, started with a party! Wilson is much more cooperative about wearing the silly hat! And if you remember Jimmy's birthday just a couple of weeks back, you will recognize this pose with a card. And how great is this? Wilson's b-day card is again from Jimmy's breeder, Anne. She did not breed Wilson but she still sent him a card! So sweet!
