Kind of gross to look at and a bit greasy to the touch. |

Many thanks to Merinda for turning us on to this great drug snack!
If you want to score some for your dogs, I suggest shopping around. I've seen a bunch of different prices, ranging from 50 cents to a dollar each.

Those look good, I fear Jack would swallow it whole, but we might have to check them our for Maggie - a more dainty eater.
ReplyDeleteThose look gross. I'm sure my little Gwen would LOVE them! haha. :)
ReplyDeleteThe foot bones don't hurt them? I thought dogs weren't supposed to have things like chicken bones? Are duck feet different?? I'm curious.
These treats crunch up into crumbs and don't splinter like a chicken bone might. I googled around and found nothing that indicates they cause any problems. I think a good portion of this treat is cartlidge as well. If your dog is the kind to just gulp down whatever is handed to them without chewing first, it might not be great. But then lots of treats would be an issue then.
Deletemy guys also think they are doggy crack. never enough!
ReplyDeleteUmmm... Ewwww....
ReplyDeleteWhere do you get them?
Sam
Lots of online shops sell them. The link above goes to White Dog Bone Company. You can even make them yourself quite easily. The raw feet are available at Asian markets and you can roast/dehydrate them slowly in your oven set to 250 after brushing them with a bit of olive oil.
DeleteHaha dog crack. That's hilarious. I'm going to have to look into how to dehydrate these. Do they need to be refrigerated?
ReplyDeleteAfter dehydrating, they are fine in a plastic bag or jar of some kind, the same way you would store a bully stick.
DeleteWow we have never seen those before. We can well understand why the guys would love them. Have a terrific Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
I can see the dogs liking this a lot. I'm not sure I would be crazy about chewed duck feet in my RV......
ReplyDeleteMy dogs totally love these, they are like potato chips for dogs. It makes them go totally nutso crazy dog for them.
ReplyDeleteI simultaneously think: GROSS and AWESOME! I will look around. We have some specialty food shops near us that may have them. :)
ReplyDeleteOh. Oh my. No. I can't do it. Not and still look Jimmy and Petey in the face.
ReplyDeleteThe things we do for our dogs... ;-)
ReplyDeleteSusan and Wrigs
Hmmm... honestly, my first thought was ICK! And then I tried to imagine following that link to make my own... even bigger ICK. Now I'm going to go and look out the window to watch the ducks on our pond and try to forget all about this. Thank heavens none of the dogs read this blog post!! ;-)
ReplyDeleteYum, yum! We process our own chickens here, haven't gotten up the courage to stick the feet in the oven or dehydrator. The dogs don't mind them raw or frozen usually. Do they have an odor?
ReplyDeleteI can't vouch for making your own, if there is an odor while heating them...But I can say the store bought ones have absolutely no odor at all to me, but are greasy to the touch, so you need to wash your hands right after handling them out.
DeleteWoof! Woof! They look like feet. Does it smell? Happy Tasty Tuesday. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
ReplyDeleteNo, no smell really. But it's not a long lasting chew, it's more of a big crunchy cookie that only lasts a couple of minutes.
DeleteHa! I'm so glad you weren't disgusted (too terribly) by them when I sent them! :) They do love them!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy you sent them. They are a HUGE hit! I might even try to make my own! We have an international grocery right down the road and I am sure it will have the raw feet.
DeleteOh dear! I think Blueberry would try to swallow these whole, so maybe they aren't for her. Glad your pack likes them - what a great treat for them!!
ReplyDeleteWow, now that is certainly not something we ever heard of!!! Happy to read it isn't like chicken bones cuz that was my immediate thought but obviously you did your research. Still though, I don't know that I could hold one of them but I'm a city girl and believe meat "magically" appears in the grocery store...la la land is best for me on some things but I bet Max would actually like this!
ReplyDeleteHowdy Mates, mum reckons maybe they should be called "dog quack" instead of crack hehehe. Mmmmm they sound delicious. We'll have to check out some Oz stores to find them. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory
ReplyDeleteWow!!! You doggies sure eat some unusual stuff!
ReplyDeleteGlad you're enjoying them : )
; ) Katie
That looks absolutely scrumptious! I will have to work on my humans to get me some. We have never seen them here.
ReplyDeleteOh...ew.... um...gross. I mean, YEAH! These look great! LOL. THey have snacks like this at our raw food store, but I've never been able to bring myself to buy them. Maybe next time.
ReplyDeleteOh lordy.... I missed this but had to come see what Max was talking about... Now I see - and I have the heebie-geebies! I'm sure Rita would love them but.... ewww!
ReplyDeleteThis is an amazing idea! I'll have to try the DIY sometime - thanks so much for sharing.
