We headed up to the mountains last weekend for a picnic at our favorite apple orchard. Although the trees were pretty well bare of fruit, plenty of fallen apples still lay on the ground. The boys had a grand time chasing, retrieving, and, yes, eating lots of apples.
Here they are taking a break from running in the hilly terrain. You definitely learn you aren't as fit as you like to think you are when you hike around these steep hills.....
Going downhill is a whole lot easier!
With the trees empty of apples, we got to enjoy the orchard pretty much to ourselves. The majority of the folks were down by the barns buying pumpkins, caramel apples, and cider. We always bring a picnic.....
A bucket of chicken really brings out the beggars!
Just one bite! Pretty please! |
And finally, after a big lunch and a couple glasses of wine, this is what happens......
ZZZZZZZZ |
Jimmy kept watch to ensure his favorite human was safe from any rogue squirrels.
Have a great weekend, Everyone!
How nice! Hubby and I talk about going on a picnic, but don't have any peaceful spots around us. Your pictures are beautiful!

What a good day that must have been! If you're willing to share your apple area, please do. I won't be visiting Erika this Fall, but there's next year -- after I retire!!! Great photos!
ReplyDeleteThat looked like a great picnic. BOL Jimmy keeping an eye out for squiggles. Have a fabulous Friday.

ReplyDeleteHowdy Mates, what a great visit and picnic. We love apples too and with our summer just around the corner we look forward to getting some. Our neighbour has some apples trees along our fenceline and we get the ones that drop hehe. Lovely photos especially Dad snoozing in the sun. See ya soon. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory
