My News from the National

Here's my report from the National......

First, I am SO very proud of Wilson! All these pretty ribbons are thanks to him! He double-Q'd on Tuesday with a first and a second place showing! That netted me the extra pretty Double Q ribbon in the middle. It also put us in contention for High in Trial for Preferred but alas Wilson was a tad slow for that honor. Still pretty cool to be in the running!

This double-Q was also Wilson's first toward his PAC title...Gee only 19 more to go. Just kidding really, as he is back into agility retirement.

Jimmy, alas, could not pull off a Q at all. In STD both days, his table antics ended the runs. I walked out after the table both days. **SIGH**. In JWW, he took just one bar each run. I had hoped to bring home a Q for him as well, but it was just not to be....

As for conditions....Monday, cold and rainy! The soccer field had been COVERED , wall to wall, in goose poop. Club members scowered the field endlessly trying to remove as much as possible. It was in pretty good shape by start time and there wasn't too much sniffing by the Cardis.

Tuesday dawned clear, sunny, and very breezy. A much prettier day, for sure. There were a couple of wind related incidents such as shade umbrellas taking flight, and the timer's/scribe's tent flew onto the field during a one of Susan Stephon's runs. She had a good run going, stopped for the UFO, and restarted from the beginning, luckily Qing on the second try.

I drove to the herding site on Sunday before heading to Gettysburg. It was also a very cold and damp day. The parking area was very muddy, and lucky me, my car got mired. Amanda, owner of the site (and what a gorgeous place it is!), kindly pulled me out with a tractor.

Both boys were signed up for the Instinct Test. Here is a slightly blurry photo of Jimmy doing his thing. I don't have a pictuure of Wilson unfortunately because he needed me in the ring with him. It was so cool to see them "turn on" to the sheep! Both boys passed the test with flying colors! Wilson was in heaven, I could see it in his eyes.

This is just a silly miscellaneous shot. Jimmy was really freaked out by that dog statue when he first saw it, so much so that he didn't even notice the cow!
