Jimmy's First Agility Trial of 2010 - Day 2

Day 2 was not as successful as Saturday. The first run of the day was Open STD. Jimmy was very amped up. A fast sheltie ran just before us and all the movement cranked him over the top! We were doing fine for the first 11 obstacles. It was teeter to table, with a sit. No way would he sit, down, or anything but sass me. He bounced off to go sniff, came back, and bounced off again, and you could see he was just delighting in playing nanner, nanner, nanner, you can't do anything about this! We had NQ'd at this point so on we went. We still finished under time even with all the table shenanigans!

Many hours later, it was Open JWW. We opened well, but he shot into the wrong end of the tunnel. That flustered me so I caused a refusal at the weaves that was the next obstacle. On second try, he did just fine. He loves those 24 inch weaves! He ran the rest of the course well, but dropped the very last bar.

So, we only Q'd once out of 4 runs, but that was the most important run to me, since it gave us our NA. Also, despite being excited and raring to go, Jimmy held his start line stay beautifully on all four runs! I even led out 3 obstacles on one run, so that's pretty darn good! Jimmy hasn't been trialing much yet, is only 2 years old, so he has some maturing to do. He did pretty well for a green little boy!

Our next trials are the last weekend of March, so stay tuned....
