Monday Mischief: In All Their Gritty Glory!
The beach is a wonderful place to visit. I love the sound of the ocean waves, the salty smell to the air, even the piercing cries of the gulls when they spot you eating something. But there's one thing that makes living at the beach a lot of work.....sand! It gets everywhere and when you have a couple of thick-coated corgis along for the ride, their coats soak it up like a sponge!
Case in point.....
The boys love their days when they get to ride the jetski with us and hang out on the beach all day. There's swimming, running, barking, eating....all those things dogs love to do. But it does end with a very sudsy bath which still doesn't get all the sand out! As their coats dry out, they rain sand!

Extreme close-up.....just in case Jimmy didn't look very dirty.....

Guess Where We Were Last Weekend?
It's that time of year again. We always head to the beach in March to check on our condo and (sigh) hand it over to the rental management company. We had some pretty nice weather as well as some rain, but all in all it was an enjoyable, albeit short, visit. I didn't take lots of photos. Believe it or not, the town was quite busy and the beach was full of people! I can't let the boys run free when it's like that so the photo-ops are less.
These two pictures are very similar, probably one right after the other on the camera. Which one do you like better?
Here's one taken at the "golden hour" as the sun began to set. No corgis, but still a pretty setting and great colors. Be sure to click to enlarge it for more detail.

Mischief Monday: Sand, Sand, and More Sand!
As you may have guessed from last Friday's post as well as my new header photo, once again we've been down to our condo in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. We had an incredibly gorgeous week of clear blue skies, warm temps, and ample beach time.
The boys were more than happy to stretch their legs on the beach with a good game of fetch.....
The mischief enters the picture when we all go inside and dry off. Wherever the boys decide to lie, be it the floor or the bed, a large pile of sand can be found when they vacate the spot. It doesn't matter how much rinsing I do with the hose, their thick coats hold onto incredible amounts of sand and it all drops out once the fur dries!

Before I Was So Rudely Interrupted!
I hadn't quite finished posting all the pictures from our Myrtle Beach trip before that snowstorm came along. There wasn't much left, but in the name of completing what I started (as well as not wasting precious blog fodder!), here's the last of it......
Spring weather is slowly creeping in a few degrees more each day. Of course, all of the snow is gone. It didn't have a chance against the strengthening sunlight. Undoubtedly, sometime in April, we will get a freak warm spell that will require that the A/C be turned on (way too early!), and we'll go from bitching about the cold weather to bitching about the unseasonably warm weather.
