The Weekend Report: Another Fun Day of Agility!
This weekend I signed up for just one day of the American Belgian Malinois Club's agility trial. It was a one-ring trial so I was afraid it would be a long day waiting to getting in both runs, but actually it was very well done. The day flew by!
The courses were very fun and flowing and Jimmy and I were successful in both Jumpers and Standard. I didn't bug anyone to video us so I am afraid this will be a rather dull post. It's mainly just for my record-keeping. Sorry about that!
The maps:
This was actually the club's National Specialty so they had done a full week of events. They made special ribbons to honor the military, working-dog heritage of their breed. Jimmy was his usual speedy self and earned a 2nd place in Standard and a 1st place in Jumpers. Here are our ribbons for qualifying in Standard, you can see they used a camo-themed ribbon for the military......
As part of their National Specialty, the club was offering Dock Diving. The large swimming pool was set up in the parking lot of the Gander Mountain store in the location adjacent to our agility trial building. It was a very unseasonably cold day, but fairly sunny with a brisk wind. It didn't seem to slow the enthusiasm of the dogs waiting their turn in the pool. Here's Jimmy watching the excitement from nearby. Any closer to the activity and his "fun police" traits came out, with him screaming at all the dogs to stop splashing and having a good time!
