As I have done a few times in the past, I made up my own version of the lyrics. (My apologies to John and Paul!)
Here they are:
Day after day, alone on the hill
The dog with the short legs is keeping perfectly still
But everyone wants to pet him
They can see he's not "just a dog"
And he never gives an wag
But the dog on the hill
Sees the sun going down
And the eyes in his head
See the squirrels spinning round
Well on the way, nose to the wind
The dog of a thousand sounds is barking perfectly loud
But everybody hears him
and the sounds that he makes
And he never seems to notice
But the dog on the hill
Sees the sun going down
And the eyes in his head
See the squirrels spinning round
And everyone seems to like him
They can tell what he wants to do
And he never shows he cares
But the dog on the hill
Sees the sun going down
And the eyes in his head
See the squirrels spinning round
He never listens to them
He knows they want him inside
They don't like him barking
But the dog on the hill
Sees the sun going down
And the eyes in his head
See the squirrels spinning round
Bravo, bravo! Great rendition. SHE's always putting us into songs. We'd love to see squirrels spinning, too.
ReplyDeleteVery clever (and true, in this household)! I began reading, and I thought, wow, I don't remember those words, but they are great!...OK it's early, in my mind at least.
