The Weekend Report: Last Trial of 2016

I've been in between jobs for quite a while now, so I used the free time to sign up for a week day trial. Usually by December, I am already done for the year. I just did Friday of the 3-day Blue Ridge trial. It was a cold blustery day so it was a great day for indoor agility! Even better, Novice and Open classes went first so I didn't even need to get up early!

Our first class of the day was Standard and here is our course map:

Obstacle #5 to #6 seemed to be the hardest spot for most teams. I have to say, I didn't run it as I planned to but fortunately we still qualified! We earned a 2nd place ribbon for this run, taking quite the trouncing from our good friend Twist the Pembroke Welsh Corgi. She is returning to competition after back issues so I was more than happy to have her get the blue!

Many thanks to my friend Janet for being my videographer. (It was great seeing you after such a long time! You did a good job with the videos!) Here's our run:

This was a one ring trial so I had plenty of time to socialize and shop at the Gander Mountain store in the next parking lot. Our Jumpers run came along about 3 hours later. It was a fun course that encouraged speed. The map:

Nothing too tricky, just keeping the bars up....again thanks to Janet for my video! This time we were bested by a speedy little Cocker Spaniel so we again earned 2nd place.

It was a really fun day! I wish I could have gone to all three days!

  3. AMAZING! I love watching you and Jimmy - such a well-oiled team. I'm also happy for your friend whose dog has recovered from back issues! Good news all around.
