Chiaroscuro

Chiaroscuro is one of those words that is just fun to say. I have loved the word ever since I first learned it back in my Art History days in college.

These photos made me think of that word.......

chi·a·ro·scu·ro
kēˌärəˈsk(y)o͝orō,kēˌarə-/
noun
  1. the treatment of light and shade in drawing and painting.
    • an effect of contrasted light and shadow created by light falling unevenly or from a particular direction on something.
