So we head out into the backyard to start our walk. Everybody gets leashed up and we head to the gate. I look down as I am unlatching it and this is what I see......
Jimmy's Cuz toy with its feet nibbled off! I can't imagine the rubber could have been all that tasty. That's probably why there are so many "crumbs" left lying around.
Here's a close up of the damage (sorry for the less the stellarly focused shot!).....
As you can tell by the weathered appearance of this toy, it's been hanging out in the elements a good long while. I tossed it in the trash and one of Jimmy's indoor Cuzzes replaced it.
I wonder which critter did the dirty deed? I regularly see squirrels and bunnies in the yard, plus mice every now and again. The tooth marks were about right for any of them!
Squirrels chewing your toys !?!
ReplyDeleteOutrageous!
Those tree rats have no shame

ReplyDeleteLOL we knew it was the squirrels. Huh you can't trust them. Have a marvellous Monday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
Um... I am so sorry but I believe one of my herding dogs visited your house. I guess they wanted Jimmy's Cuz to look like all of our feetless toys.
ReplyDeletewho ever chewed the feet off, at least they weren't swallowed. It's always a surprise to see what shows up in poop. LeeAnna at not afraid of color lapaylor.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteHmmm... the mystery of the murdered dog toy!
ReplyDeleteWhat bad luck :(
ReplyDeleteWe too have had a few amputated toys decorate our yard here in Doodleville. And whenever I find one, I never know who did it!
ReplyDeleteSquirrel.....a stupid squirrel who can't tell the difference between a rubber toy and a nut.
ReplyDeleteBoy, those tree rats are even dumber than we thought! Rubber feet?! Bleh!
ReplyDeleteGive it a good sniff and track down the culprit?
ReplyDeleteim not sure but our cuz ha da similar look once after being in the yard
ReplyDeleteretro rover
That was a bit rude of whoever ate your toys' feet. The good thing is you had a replacement toy ready and waiting.
ReplyDeleteRuh roh - that toy is the one that I leave on our agility course to reward Shyla. I hope ours doesn't get eaten! That looks like the work of a squirrel to me!
ReplyDeleteCrikey ..... pesky squirrels, aye??
ReplyDeleteI'll go with squirrels, too. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI'd blame the squirrels, they're always up to mischief around here! :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you're having a fun day,
Your pal Snoopy :)
