Monday Mischief - Just Jimmy

Well, it's just Jimmy today. Wilson, poor boy, is still convalescing from injuring his leg last Tuesday afternoon. He has a chronic shoulder/leg issue that flairs up from time to time, and he really did a number on himself this time. Usually a day of rest and some Metacam, and he's feeling better. This time it took until about Friday for most of the limp to go away. I was still restricting his exercise so all he was getting was a brief potty walk. Yesterday, some serious mischief occurred....someone's stray dog ran past the back of our house.....and both boys went ballistic! Running to as many windows as they could to keep the trespasser in view. Unfortunately, Wilson went flying onto and off of the bed several times before he could be contained. When the excitement and adrenaline had subsided, Wilson's limp was back in full force. Sigh. He had a very restless night, obviously having a hard time getting comfortable. Since this limp seems so much more serious this time, Wilson is currently sitting in a crate at my vet's office, waiting for X-rays to be taken. He is a very unhappy boy. So who knows what we'll find. If it's a soft tissue injury, then the X-rays might not be helpful. But we needed a starting point because I don't want the poor guy starting another week of pain/limping.

Jimmy, on the other hand, enjoyed a nice long walk Saturday morning before the rainy weather moved in for the rest of the weekend.

  11. Oh no poor Wilson. Our vet always said unless the pain is acute not to use any pain killer as that will make them think they are better and thus do more damage. We always heeded that tip. He was a great vet now semi retired and the practice is not half what it was .. big sigh. Hope Wilson gets better and sending POTP.
    Best wishes Molly

    1. Of course he does! He prances into the house and immediately seeks out Wilson, so he can flaunt all the good smells he's wearing.
