It's Not All Black and White

For the past few Sundays, Jimmy has really been in his element with the Black and White Sunday blog hop.  His coloring seems to be so perfect for this. But really there is no such creature as a Black and White Cardigan Welsh Corgi. Cardis come in many colors but B&W isn't one of them. So, you may ask, what is Jimmy if not B&W....Well, technically, he is a tri-color Cardigan...Black and White with Brindle Points. (There is also a Cardigan color that is Black and White with Red Points, like Pumpkin here.)

Jimmy was sitting in the bright, early morning sunlight and his Brindle points were much more obvious than usual. Here he is in all his tri-color glory.....

He has Brindle inside his ears, on his eyebrows, his muzzle, cheeks and throat, elbows and that little rear leg. Even his tail has some brindling through it. Out of the direct sunlight, you almost can't tell the brindle is there!

Either way, he's a very handsome boy!

  3. Jimmy is so handsome! Does he brindle more in the summer from sun-bleaching? Our R has a weird recessive gene thing where, although he is a black lab, he starts to get brown highlights in the summer. My vet calls it "brindling" - and there's also a long fancy technical name for this "disease". As long as all it does is brindle him, we're happy!

  4. I see it! He's such a pretty boy. My Aussie mixes are tri-color, but Flash is closer to black and white, like Jimmy.

  6. So handsome! I like the black and white on occasion, but nothing replaces these color shots!

  8. Indeed, he is fine! It's interesting to compare Wilson's golden brindling to Jimmy's brindle on black--both brindle, but oh so different.

  9. Jimmy is one handsome guy! I've noticed that the brown in Wrigs's coat is much more pronounced this summer than ever before. No idea why, but it's quite noticeable.
