Nature's Cheetos?

We had a rainy weekend. It didn't make for much in the line of photo-ops, but I know the grass and trees were relieved to get a good drink of water.

As the summer wears on, all the weedy grasses have gone to seed. This means lots of them have sprouted their seed pods. There is a patch near us that is in full bloom, so to speak.

I don't know why, but they remind me of Cheetos. I guess I was hungry :-)  Here's a close-up.....

Both boys: Can we move on now? These are very definitely NOT Cheetos!

Like I said, not much of a weekend for pictures....but I had to come up with something!
