The Space Shuttle Discovery flew from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida into the Washington, DC area this morning on it's final flight, piggy-backed on a 747 jet. This picture is the view we had from our office high-rise windows! It will land at Dulles Airport shortly where it will take up residence at the Udvar-Hazy Center(Air and Space Museum). Pretty darn cool!
Here's another shot (I didn't get to see it this close though) from a fellow employee at a more western office....
Needless to say, productivity took a dip today..........
Wow. Very, very cool.
ReplyDeleteVery cool! We live right by the Space Center, so everyone is buzzing about it here today, too. It is sad to see her go. :-(
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat sight you had! We loved our visit to the Space Center last year. Hopefully we can visit the shuttle that will beon display in NYC.
ReplyDeleteOh wow O______*
ReplyDeleteI was wondering if you would see it. How cool! I'm trying to talk Glenn into going to Los Angeles when one of the shuttles is trucked the 12 miles from the airport to its installation site.
ReplyDeleteIts sad it couldn't fly its self. Would love to see it for real, oh silly me I've been up in it lol
ReplyDeleteHave a good week
See Yea George xxx
It was pretty cool to see it fly over. My office is by the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum, and I work stopped for about a hour with everyone outside or on the Mall.
