For Your Entertainment

OK, so it took about five minutes with the AKVIS software to get a photo transformed in to a perfect sketch. It took a human (me) about two and a half hours to create a similar yet far from perfect sketch.
I had fun trying but as with drawing a person, getting the eyes right is all important, and mine fall somewhere in the Picasso category :-) And I am not talking talent, I am talking being askew!

But, without further ado, for your friday night chuckle I present my special effects:

  1. Wow I think that came out awesome! Charcoal drawings are very tough to do! Excellent work! :-)

  3. I know what you mean by difficulty in getting the eyes right. You have a good sketching style. My suggestions would be to lower the eyes a bit on both dogs, shift the right dog's right eye (their right, not yours. It's always hard to say directions online) closer to the middle, and widen both of their muzzles. The one with the white nose should be widened a bit more than the one without. The dog on the right's left foot should also be trimmed down a bit on the inside with shadows.

I hope you don't mind the critique, it is just the textures on the dogs are lovely. You should keep drawing. :)

  5. That's a wonderful sketch of the boys -- it had to take so much time -- probably why we fall back on our cameras.
