Despite being tiny, our deck in the backyard has steps off to the left and off to the right. The boys use this as part of the big loops around the yard when they play chase games. Jimmy especially takes some pretty cringe-inducing (for me) leaps, looking briefly like Superman as he jumps down. Now when there is a bit of snow, the deck gets slick, and as Wilson runs across, he slides the last few feet. In this instance, Jimmy "cut him off at the pass", blocking him from coming down the steps, so he skid to a stop.
Sounds like your boys play like my girls. Darby is the one to cut Pumpkin off at the pass most times. It is so much fun to watch them, isn't it? But I understand the cringing. I do it too, as they tear through shrubbery, leap over lawn chairs, and race underneath tables.
