....that's how we like our Q's!
Saturday, Jimmy and I had an agility trial over on Eastern Shore Maryland, held by the Talbot Kennel Club. We had a VERY successful day!
The day got off to a very chilly start in the upper 30's. This trial offered FAST and our Open class was the first of the day. The "Send" was a teeter slanted out toward the tape line and then either end of a tunnel the was at the back of the taped area. Last time we ran FAST it was a teeter and Jimmy couldn't do it with me so far away, so I wasn't expecting much. I gathered as many points as possible saving an AFrame to a jump and then into the Send so I could use all that momentum. And it worked! Jimmy flew up the teeter, and even went deeper in to get the tunnel! The buzzer sounded before we crossed the finish line so I wasn't sure I had collected enough points, but lo and behold, we had the fastest time and the most points to get 1st place! We were off to a great start!
Next came Open Standard and our arch nemesis, the Table. Jimmy jumped up with no complaint what so ever! It was only the 6th obstacle so we had to keep it clean the rest of the way. And again my good little man pulled it off! With 73 seconds to get it done, he did it in 43.91, once again earning us 1st place! And, drumroll please, our Open Standard title! It only took 16 tries thanks to our table issues!
Finally a couple of hours later, came Excellent B JWW. It was an interesting course with a tricky weave pole entry. Jimmy really had his game on, as we Q'd in this run too! We were a full 10 seconds under time, but not nearly fast enough to earn a placement. The first place dog beat us by 6 or 7 seconds!
Needless to say, this was a very satisfying weekend! It was also held at a gorgeous farm with wonderful places to walk, sunny weather, and nice photo ops. I'll post some pictures later when I get everything off my camera.
Tracking Jimmy's MACH progress:
Excellent B JWW legs: 3
Excellent B STD legs: 0
Double Q's: 0
MACH Points: 37
Congratulations! What a good boy!
