Black and White Sunday: What the Buck?!

If you follow me over on FaceBook, you may have seen the photos I posted of a very robust buck that plopped himself down for a rest directly behind my backyard fence,. I couldn't open the backdoor to get a nice sharp shot or he would have fled. But I did get a pretty pose through the window. Then I thought he would make a good holiday prop.....Rudolf resting with his nose so bright!

Here's the original so you can see just how gorgeous this guy truly was....He wandered off before Jimmy or Wilson ever noticed him.

Getting All Artsy-Fartsy!

I haven't been taking much in the line of new photos recently. The hot and humid weather has been keeping walks short and to the point. But thanks to PicMonkey, any old photo can be tinkered with. I had a blast playing with all their special effects!

I spared the boys the torture of real costumes this year and just played around in PicMonkey. It wasn't quite as satisfying so I feel like a bit of a Halloween slacker.

Last year, Jimmy  was the recipient of my unwanted attention. You can see how thrilled he was!

Wilson  has seen his fair share of dress-up pain as well.

And playing to his devilish side....Jimmy again.

But, it was as a pair that they suffered their biggest indignity. And it was where I had the most fun!

Do You Remember Spin Art?

I can remember as a kid, back in the dawn of time, going to the boardwalk in Ocean City, NJ or maybe to a fair. There would be a booth that offered Spin Art. It was a little machine, like a turntable, that spun while you added paint. Being a kid, you would usually end up adding way too many colors, resulting in mud. But, hey, you had a lot of fun!

PicMonkey  inspired me to create a photo version, well sort of. It didn't spin, but it did pull the colors out in a fanning effect. Coupled with some other effects, and of course having a corgi as the main theme, it resulted in....(as always, click to enlarge for the best viewing)....

And the lower half still resulted in MUD!

Wilson's Warhol Wannabe on Wordless Wednesday

Happy Halloween!

First, let it be known, I could post a Wilson's Wordless Wednesday today but alas it would not have had a Halloween theme. It just seems wrong to ignore Halloween so I'll just save my W'sWW for next week.

Without further ado....here's my Halloween line-up.....

The First Avenger!

The inspiration for this costume came from Jimmy's new Comfortflex harness. His old one was really getting dingy, so I decided it was time for a replacement. I buy mine from Clean Run  and they sell a special Stars and Stripes model that benefits the United States' Agility World Team. I also love to watch all the Marvel comic inspired movies like Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, etc., so I started calling Jimmy 'Captain America' (aka The First Avenger) and things went from there!

This was my first attempt when all I had was the shield......

But then, much to Jimmy's dismay and horror.....I found the helmet at Walmart! And it got so much better, well, for me at least!

I had a lot of fun in Picmonkey giving these photos the old comic book feel. How do you think they turned out?

This year Wilson was spared the indignities of being dressed up but he definitely enjoyed seeing Jimmy suffer through it. I am pretty sure I heard him snickering a few times!

I Couldn't Think of a Title for This Post!

I couldn't come up with anything clever, not-so-clever, whatever.....as a title for this photo. Do you have any ideas?

This fence was along the walk we took yesterday morning. The backyard it outlined was fully wooded, so this fence never sees the sun. As a result, the slats are permanently green with moss or maybe algae. It made a neat photo background. Other than the rounded edges that I got from PicMonkey, this is pretty much what the scene looked like. It was an overcast morning so the colors were muted and monochromatic and Wilson contrasted with the fence nicely.
