Getting Comfy

It's not comfy! This needs a bit of fluffing!

Still not right...... a bit of hollowing out.....

Ah! Just right!
And for all of his efforts, Jimmy stayed in his carefully honed spot for less than a minute before he was off again!

Give us the password or we will stop your passage!

So, what do you think a Cardigan would use as a password?

King of the Mountain!

It's good to be the KING!

I bow before my king!
Wilson's supremacy didn't last long! Jimmy charged the mountain shortly after!

Launching the Attack!

Wilson dethroned!

And now for that non-corgi content, but keeping it on topic!

Saturday Steps*

*Inspired by George The Ladd ...and Tess, too!)

I LOVE symmetry as this photo indicates!

Almost all our days on this recent trip to Myrtle Beach, SC were this gorgeous....clear blue skies, mid-80s and low humidity. Just perfect!

And for my No Corgi Content photos.......Sea Oats!

My hat blew off and made its own still life composition!

NOT Sea Oats but very pretty just the same!

Channeling His Inner Border Collie

Jimmy has been called a Border Collie on many occasions. His coloring in very BC. His intensity and drive doing agility is very BC. And here we can see his "eye" is also rather BCish as well......

I took lots of photographs that did not include to dogs as well. (oh, the horror!) I am going to share them at the end of each post for a while just so they don't just languish on my hard drive. So, please indulge me :-)

I love how the sunlight can capture just one spot. It was a bit cloudy near the end of the day. We were in the shadows from it. But up the beach, a ray of sunlight was lighting up the buildings on the horizon. I am not sure the small size of the photo here on the blog catches the drama quite as well as on the full screen of my PC, but it really was neat to see in real life.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Washington's Not Just About The Politics....NCC*

*No Corgi Content

Before I launch into a week's (or more!) worth of beach posts, I wanted to share a couple of photos I took back in early September. Living as I do in the Washington DC area, politics are an inescapable fact of life, Presidential election year or not. There's always some hub-bub or scandal afoot, but that doesn't mean you can't find a peaceful moment. For my birthday, we decided to take in a change of scenery, and headed over to the National Harbor . It's a relatively new commercial/residential/private marina development on the Potomac River. While technically it's in Maryland, it's just across the river from DC. We wandered around the shops a bit and had dinner with a nice view of the water. Afterwards, we strolled down the main dock to ogle the many large yachts moored there. The day was just about over and the sun was setting across the river. Here's how it looked.....

Too bad Washington isn't always this calm and peaceful!

Sunset Bridge

Here's another view of the bridge that appeared in Wilson's last WW. It sits at just the right spot to catch the setting sun, well, at least at this time of year. I love the warm tones of the metal.

I'm going to take a bit of a blogging break for a bit. I'm am low on both photographs and inspiration. I'll see everyone back here in a week or so, hopefully fully armed with new ideas and pictures of Jim and Wilson!

Have a great weekend, Everyone!

First, let me say Thank You! to everyone for visiting my blog. I really appreciate that you spend some of your precious time here! That being said, I know you really want to know who was picked. Random.org did the work for me. Here's the number it selected, you know, out of the blue :-) As in Once in a Blue Moon....

So congratulations to Kathy! Please email me ( taryn(dot)tipton(at)gmail(dot)com ) with your email address and I'll get a gift certificate sent your way.

Thanks again to all of you for playing my silly game! I am sure there will be another GiveAway planned in the future, so be sure to check back.

This is a photo of the actual Blue Moon as seen from my backyard. It doesn't look very blue to me :-)

From Our Walk.....but NCC*

*No Corgi Content

I see Blue Herons quite often on our walks. Usually they fly off quickly. This one, however, was focused on breakfast and let me get pretty close.

The classic pose

Hmmm! I think I see something!

STRIKE!

It's a big breakfast today!
